Refusing to ignore people in crisis

Providing safe and effective emergency care for patients who require admission to hospital. The successful candidates will work as part of a two-person team operating a British Red Cross ambulance working under contract for the North East Ambulance Service.

 

Main Responsibilities:

•              Provide safe and dignified emergency care and transport for                          patients.

•              Keep accurate and appropriate records for all patient episodes.

•              Develop and maintain clinical skills in a range of emergency                        situations.

•              Work effectively as part of a team at all times.

 

Essential Skills:

•              Full manual UK drivers licence held for a minimum of one year                      (No more than 3 penalty points).

•              Educated to GCSE level or equivalent by experience.

•              Able to work shifts on a 24 hour rota basis.

•              Fitness to carry out the moving and handling of patients and                        equipment.

 

Desirable Skills:

•              Experience of working in a care environment either paid or                            voluntary.

•              Excellent communication skills.

•              Ability to work effectively in difficult and traumatic                                        circumstances.

•              Knowledge of CQC and its role within patient safety.

If successful, you will be required to attend a first assessment day on either 9, 11, 12 or 13 September, followed by a second assessment day on either 15, 16, 17 or 18 September.
