Tutors in Employability and Painting + Decorating (Trainer, Teacher) BLUT12856
HMP Bedford
Salary; £18,900 - £26,000 depending on experience
(pro rata for the part time role)

Our Client is a leading public service provider, serving thousands of people across three continents - Europe, Australasia and Asia; their core mission is to improve peoples’ lives. They work in partnership with governments, public sector organisations, private sector companies, voluntary and community groups to deliver a range of front line public services, including employment and welfare, training, education and money and legal advice.

They currently have an opportunity for a full time Painting & Decorating Tutor and a part time (0.7 hours) Employability Tutor to join them at HMP Bedford where you will provide a high quality learning experience for prisoners with the goal of preparing them for resettlement and reintegration into the community whilst helping them to overcome any barriers to employment.

As part of these roles, you will identify the individual needs of learners and ensure that they all have an individual learning plan which links to their long term employment goals. Continually reviewing the progression of the learners to ensure the training meets their identified needs, you will prepare, deliver and review comprehensive lesson plans for all whilst actively gaining feedback from learners and other sources. Engaging and motivating both individuals and learner groups, you will complete the necessary administration tasks and work with colleagues to assist learner’s progression towards qualifications.

They are looking for someone who has a certificate in education or equivalent and who is qualified to Level 4 in their specific subject (Painting & Decorating or Employability). With a confidence in using a diverse range of presentation and communication skills and previous experience of developing and delivering curriculum programmes on a roll-on, roll-off programme, you will be able to handle challenging situations whilst remaining calm and in control, especially in a group situation. Having a passion to motivate and lead by example is key, as is the experience of overcoming complex barriers. A background in working with the unemployed or disadvantaged people in a challenging environment is desirable but not essential.
