Facilities Maintenance Operative Part-time position.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Operative to help take care of our state-of-the-art veterinary hospital, situated on Cranmore Business Park in Shirley, Solihull.

The successful candidate will work three days a week alongside our full time on-site maintenance team, ensuring the security, safety and upkeep of the Practice facilities and grounds. Liaison and support for our external maintenance contract providers, who visit the Practice once a week, is also a key aspect of this role. The ideal candidate will have previous commercial maintenance experience, with experience in electrical work (including PAT testing), decorating, building and carpentry, or as a multi-disciplined all-rounder to a high standard. He or she will also be IT literate and a good communicator, with a proactive and co-operative approach to this varied and practical post. Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety and Fire Safety regulations would be an advantage, and it is essential that the candidate holds a full driving licence (maximum of 3 penalty points).

This is a part time role routinely working 6 - 2 Mondays,Wednesdays and Fridays; however, some flexibility with regards to management of external contractors, holiday cover, twice-yearly fire drills and the potential need to respond to emergency call outs will be required.

Pro-rata salary in the region of £18,000 - £25,000 depending on skills and experience. Generous CPD allowance for relevant training and professional development. Four weeks holiday plus statutory holidays (increasing with length of service).3% employer contribution to pension scheme, free uniform and parking.
