The Grocery / Food Buyer Opportunity.

Trading is a vibrant hands-on, cut-and-thrust department that gives you ownership of your projects from day one, provides plenty of chance to travel, sometimes abroad, and with our unique vertical integration model offers unique career opportunities.

Reporting to the Category Manager and a key member of the Trading Team, your challenge will be to select products, negotiate the terms and create ranges that offer the outstanding quality and value that our customers really want to buy. You’ll ensure that packaging, merchandising, availability and efficient selling are fully considered and that maximum profit is generated while maintaining an unbeatable price. Managing the supplier base in the best interests of the business, you’ll negotiate promotional packages to meet tough targets and communicate up and down the line to ensure that product is continuously available.

Ambient Grocery / Food Buyer Required Skills.

With previous experience of food buying/trading, you will thrive in a fast paced trading environment and must have a good eye for detail and excellent communication skills along with computer literacy. Previous experience in food service would be advantageous and excellent supplier management, negotiation and influencing skills will be essential.
