Engineering and Maintenance Manager 40 hours per week Salary dependant on experience

We are seeking an Engineering and Maintenance Manager to provide effective operation and maintenance of building services and associates support systems across the Shardlow site, with lead role for building related incidents affecting, including fault investigations, complex analysis and high level reports for continual improvement initiatives and resulting input into strategic plans for future engineering & maintenance requirements. This post will suit building services professionals with a demonstrable background across a comparable multi-site estate with adept programme and workstream management.

The successful candidate will hold strong operational management experience and hold a degree in B. Engineering with extensive senior management expertise and be fully conversant with developments is building regulations, engineering standards for construction and MEP, sustainability and environmental issues. You will possess expertise in maintaining a vast array of critical engineering plant and this role will suit professionals who are used to presenting complex technical proposals. Corporate membership of a relevant body (CIBSE, IET, EI, CIOB, RICS etc is desirable

Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of planned preventative maintenance activities and reactive works in accordance with SOPs and industry standards.

  • Budget management within areas of responsibility

  • Principle Authorised person responsible for Distribution of Electricity in line with Shardlow Business Park Low Voltage Electrical Safety Rules.

  • Senior Authorised Person for the control and operation of Pressure Systems on Shardlow Business Park in line with SOPs and Pressure System Safety Regulations 2000 REG.2 as User.

  • Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities.

  • Analyse technology, resource needs, and business demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects.

  • Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment.

  • Review and recommend or approve contracts and cost estimates for building & infrastructure assets.

  • Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to Deputy Site Manager Shardlow and in house customers.

  • Consult or negotiate with in house customers to prepare project specifications in accordance with cGMP and cGLP SOPs.

  • Maintain set scientific and technical goals within broad outlines provided by top management on building environmental controls.

  • Oversee any of the site specific day to day operational activities to ensure compliance with H&S and the smooth daily operation of the Shardlow site.

  • Direct the engineering of water control, treatment, and maintain site discharge agreements as set down by Environmental Agency.

  • Monitoring and reporting that projects are constructed to EU and British standards and any other international standards required to be met in accordance with agreed standards to meet ASHRAE and CIBSE best practice and published guidelines.

  • Ensure budget models and cost parameters are reviewed on a regular basis at least monthly to advise the Deputy Site Manager Shardlow on any potential savings or overspend.

  • Ensure effective operation and maintenance training of building services and associated support systems across the organisation.

  • Full responsibility for building related incidents including fault investigations, complex analysis and high level reports for continual improvement initiatives and resulting finding reported to the Deputy Site Manager Shardlow

  • Work with the Facilities Team to develop effective PPM schedules in line with any manufacturer's recommendations for Mechanical Electrical Plumbing.

  • All health and safety considerations are managed in line with current regulations, guidelines and SOPs

  • Generate and maintain the annual training matrix for the department.

  • Control of Contractors visiting / working on site.

  • Recruit employees; assign, direct, and evaluate their work; and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.

  • Responsibility for specific programmes including contract development and specification for site construction and major repair program, building related risk management/ statutory compliance and standards and procedures to support delivery of Engineering & Maintenance strategy and 5 year rolling programme.

  • Flexibility for multi-site operations and project management of capital projects.

  • Effectively communicate with all key stakeholders at all times.

  • Ensure Divisional Deputy Site Manager Shardlow is fully informed at all stages of progress.

  • Liaise effectively with Contractors to ensure delivery of best results
