We opened our first Digital Media Centre 14 years ago in a prison. During this time 650 prisoners have trained and worked for us, developing high level skills and workplace experience that has enabled them to gain employment on release, either with us or using their expertise in the industry with other employers. This family-run business is now based in Yorkshire, London, Prague and Paris. We have a vacancy for a strong Commercial Manager in the HMP Humber office.
We have received national awards as an entrepreneur for its success working in the prison setting. The exemplary rehabilitation achievements of the company have been recognised by policy makers at the highest level.
The successful candidate will lead a team of 25 inmates supporting training and ensuring that client work is fulfilled to the highest standard. This will be enabled by maintaining a positive committed working environment that will shape the future of the inmate employees and the office within HMP Humber. This is a unique role for a leader to manage, plan, coordinate and develop the team who work on our client marketing campaigns. It will be important to engage with the rehabilitation process, working with offenders so that they are employable and have genuine prospects of re-engaging with society upon release. The work we deliver needs to be on time and with a strong focus on quality.
We are looking for a people manager who has worked in a driven commercial environment. Experience of digital marketing is not essential, but the ability to develop and motivate a team to assist individuals in realising their true potential is essential.
We expect and know that people can change with the right support and guidance. The person appointed will be responsible for ensuring the business gives its prison employees the best opportunity for a fresh start. We look for a prisoner's commitment to change his life through the development of high level skills and a strong work ethic.
The person appointed will liaise with the wider teams within the business by developing strong business relationships with key stakeholders at our Head Office in East Yorkshire and London. An understanding of capacity and capability within the team will be necessary, identifying who is able to develop further and supporting them through coaching and training. The role is the first point of contact for client escalation issues.
This is a unique appointment for a focussed and resilient individual. The successful candidate will have the ability to prioritise with good time management and personal communication skills. Mentoring is a key part of this role but with the understanding of the importance of detachment. Integrity, ethical and moral standards are essential.
The Experience
We have a strong commitment to personal development and ensure that all staff have an experience for life.
