Places for People have an exciting opportunity for a Support Assistant (Job Share) to join their team based in Fritchley Court, Nottingham on a fixed term contract. They are offering c£13k p.a. (pro rata) + benefits to the successful candidate.

Places for People Individual Support provide care and support services to people where they need it most. We are currently recruiting for caring staff to help people remain independent in their own homes.

About the Support Assistant job

You will work with customers to ensure their support needs are identified, assist in the completion of their support plans and risk assessments whilst supporting them to remain as independent as possible. This will include assessing appropriate benefits, networking, acting as an advisor and signposting to other agencies as necessary. This role also requires you to accurately record information and ensure the safety of customers.

This Support Assistant role is a job share opportunity. The working hours are agreed on a rota basis: week 1 will be two shifts and week 2 will be three shifts. The shift hours could be 7am to 2:45pm, 11am to 6:45pm or 2:15pm to 10pm.

This is a fixed term contract expected to last until March 2015, as this is funded through the Children & Youth Justice Services. Continuation will be subject to further funding.

Key Skills and Experience needed to be our Support Assistant:

- The ideal Support Assistant will be an effective team player that has experience of identifying and reviewing housing related support needs, whilst ensuring that customers receive the support they need.

- You will also need to be a clear communicator as a key part of your role is supporting new customers to understand tenancy conditions, rent payment arrangements and any other relevant policies or procedures.

- Experience assisting in the completion of risk assessments and support plans would be desirable.
