FINTEC recruit is seeking an Infrastructure Support Specialist for our major client in the telecommunications sector specialising in integrator focused on delivering exceptional customer contact strategies, applications and solutions. This is a permanent position based in Glasgow with a salary circa £36000 - £42000 based on experience.

This position is to design and deliver specialised infrastructure support and technical estate management to a varied client base. Required to work as part of a team providing managed service design for the activities and processes of development and production infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

Fulfilling, delivering and developing an estate management function to prescribed standards (security, availability and capacity) for a number of hosted solutions.
Maintain a consistently high degree of customer focus applying your analytical and customer management skills to understand and meet customer expectations to maintain our market leading CSAT.
To support 2nd and 3rd technical support
Acts as a technical authority coordinating complex technical investigations with support from the Service Desk, other second line internal and external third party resolver groups within escalation timelines to support colleagues and meet SLA target
Ensure compliance of all infrastructure in terms of capacity, performance, security, and supportability
Identify opportunities to improve operational performance and efficiency and implement plans to deliver improvements

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
Must be technically advanced in a number of products and considered a technical authority in one or more products.
VMWARE virtualisation admin and support
Experience with UNIX/Linux system administration and support (RHEL preferred)
Excellent spoken and written English: able to explain issues clearly and in detail to senior external and internal technical resources, and senior external and internal business stakeholders to board level
Good knowledge and understanding of ITIL specifically availability, capacity, problem, change and incident management processes
Understanding of implementing and managing security standards e.g. ISO 27001
Windows Server Management
Previous exposure and solid capability in a 2nd / 3rd line Support role within a demanding and customer focused environment
