Works Engineer

Salary £23K -£25K depending on experience
REQUIREMENTS
• Electrically qualified.
• Understand pneumatics.
• Have a good idea of how machinery works, from power to drives and plc units. Mechanical workings of machinery.
• Understanding of motors.
THE ROLE
As the Works Engineer you will be required to maintain our machines via the implementation of a preventative maintenance programme. Multi discipline fault finding abilities are essential as breakdowns are costly. You will need to be able to react to a machine breakdown in the most efficient, cost effective way, ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum.
You will look after everything from general building maintenance, machine maintenance and breakdowns through to the manufacture of racks or trolleys that we might require the use of in-house.
The machinery you will be responsible for will include:
• Several roll-formers for cold rolling steel products manufacturing 1mm to 5mm gauge product.
• 3 x pressbrake machines which work with lighter gauge products.
• 2 heavy duty pressbrake machines.
• 3 x power press’s.
• 6 semi automatic bandsaws.
• Semi automatic drill stations.
• Several FLT's.
THE PERSON
In this role you need to display evidence of problem solving, showing determination in finding solutions to issues that arise. You must possess a ‘can do’ attitude and be able to work on your own initiative as well as work well within a multi-functional team.
