Trainee Accountant / Market Leading Private Equity / London

Fantastic opportunity to join a market leading International PE backed during a period of exponential growth and success. They require Trainee Accountants in their London HQ, you will be part of a centralised back office Finance and Accounting team which sits with the business and is integral to company operations. Training and Development and Courses for Qualifying and Language skills provided by client. As well as bonus and benefits package from day 1!

You will be part of a new Shared Service in the HQ and therefore will start in your role along with several peers as well as Supervisors and Leadership so you will be part of a new team and a founder member. This is all due to the continued success of the employer. You must have either some experience in Finance and Accounting or a relevant degree in order to be considered. If you have any French speaking skills that is of benefit but if not you should be open minded to learning some French. There will be an opportunity for international travel if you should wish a little down the line. You can apply to work as and be trained in to one of the following skill areas:

Trainee Accounts Payable Accountant

  • Input supplier invoices submitted by OpCos via document management system workflow.
  • Compiling transaction upload templates where invoice detail has many lines and the detail is provided by the OpCos in Excel.
  • Ensure all supplier invoices are matched against a GRN and Purchase Order in the system.
  • Posting and reversing accruals where known costs have been incurred but not invoiced.
  • Assist OpCo teams address supplier enquiries regarding payments.

Trainee Cash and Bank Accountant

  • Responsible for postings of all cash and bank transactions in the system, including customer receipts, supplier payments, loans, bank transfers and bank charges.
  • Ensuring all receipts and payments relating to invoices are allocated to the respective invoices at the time posting.
  • Collating bank statements and carrying out bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.

Trainee Accounts Receivable Accountant

  • Maintain a timetable of expected bill runs for each customer, and follow up with the billing team to ensure invoices are provided to the Finance CBO on a timely basis.
  • Input customer invoices submitted by billing team, after A/R Supervisor review, into system via a batch upload.
  • Maintains customer lease rate schedules, and provides relevant non-financial information to the Reporting Manager.

Trainee Fixed Assets Accountant

  • Responsible for the capitalization of individual fixed assets in the system under the respective asset classes.
  • Running relevant reports and providing Reporting Manager with quantities of various capex items capitalized on a monthly basis, for use in management reporting.

Trainee Power Accountant

  • Responsible for posting of power related costs (fuel & electricity) on a per-site basis, using actual bills where available and using accruals where not available.
  • Compiling spreadsheets with per-site information, which can be loaded into finance system.
  • Carrying out basic checks on compiled upload files, such as comparing number of sites with costs against total reported number of sites in the OpCo.
