Job Title: Field Support Engineer
Location: Swavesey, CB24 4UQ


Our client is looking for a Field Support Engineer who will be part of a customer facing team. You will be responsible for pre and post sales technical and logistical support both internally and externally. Externally you will be in the field undertaking site surveys, customer demonstrations and system deployments. Internally you will work alongside the Operations, Sales and Technical teams to ensure all relevant tasks are completed.

You will have the following skills and qualifications:

*Proven experience in a similar role
*Degree qualified in a relevant technical field
*Previous customer facing experience in a field based technical role
*Background in hi-tech industry an advantage
*A disciplined and quality oriented approach
*Experience with Input, coordination and execution of field deployment plans
*Excellent technical knowledge
*Strong communication skills
*Deadline focused
*Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers/suppliers
*Excellent technical problem solving and analytical skills

Field Responsibilities

*Undertake customer demonstrations and training both on-site and off-site
*Carry out site surveys for solution architecture & costings
*Create product deployment/installation plans and be able to execute on them
*Install, deploy and successfully test new systems on customer site
*Propose and implement where possible solutions to improve the product/system/customer experience
*Deployment of internal development testing
*Carry out customer firmware upgrades as needed both internally and externally
*Carry out customer pre-delivery customisation as needed
*Feedback customer requirements to the Product and Development Teams for consideration for future releases

Logistics Responsibilities

*Prepare sales quotes, raise sales orders, send sales confirmations within defined timelines and run quote confirmation reports
*Raise Purchase Orders for components/products that are sourced via external suppliers and ensure all parts are received within defined timelines
*Prepare kits and production plan using Navision
*Coordinate returns procedure, liaising with customers and suppliers (internal and external), completing tracking logs and provide relevant returns information to the Technical Team
*Ship goods ensuring all relevant customs documentation provided, run weekly delivery reports highlighting any issues to the appropriate parties
*Provide customer service and support for any incoming queries pre or post sales
*Other tasks as required
