Administrator

Our client is a registered charity providing specialist palliative care for patients living with a life limiting illnesses. They now have an exciting opportunity within our team for a professional and enthusiastic – Part Time Administrator within our Lottery Office.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated Lottery team whose work supports the continued provision of the Hospice’s highly valued services. In the role of Administrator, you will have the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Verifying collectors’ and supervisors’ paperwork.
  • Counting cash paid into the Lottery Office.
  • Processing postal payments.
  • Preparing and recording banking.
  • Updating financial spread sheets.
  • Processing new member’s applications.
  • Issuing and recording petty cash.
  • Making telephone calls and answering members’ queries.
  • Downloading on-line bank statements and processing standing order payments.
  • Filing of all weekly reports and paperwork.
  • Issue weekly round sheets to supervisors and collectors.
  • Prepare bonus payments for self-employed staff.
  • Processing and franking mail.
  • General office administration.
To be successful in this role of Administrator will have experience of working in an administrative position with cash handling and preparing banking experience essential. Other knowledge, experience and qualities require are as follows:
  • Qualified or trained in Microsoft Office applications - Microsoft, Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
  • Able to communicate logically and clearly in writing and verbally
  • Adaptability and flexibility with a can do attitude
  • Formal qualification in computer literacy eg ECDL or equivalent is desirable
  • Be organised, with high attention to detail and able to meet deadlines.
  • Experience of cash handling and preparing banking.
  • Experience of working in an administrative role.
  • Experience of working with a database.
  • Ability to keep accurate computer and paper records.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Have an excellent telephone manner.

In the role of Administrator you will be receive £7.14ph and will be required to work Part Time 20 hours per week (across 4 days). You will also receive Contributory Company Group Pension Plan, Life Assurance and Medical Cash Plan – T&C’s apply.

The closing date for the role of Administrator is Friday 15th August 2014 with interviews taking place on Tuesday 2nd September but this may be extended.
