Opto Mechanical Design Engineer is sought by an innovator in Laser based manufacturing capital equipment, where you will also be exposed to a breadth of Mechanical Design Technology as you develop your career.
Working on process equipment for MEMS, Semiconductor, Solar Cell and Thin Film Deposition equipment you will be responsible for product design and build across scales from the design of opto-mechanical components with lasers, integration of print heads / ink delivery components with inkjet systems; through to motion control systems, wafer turntables, automatic loaders, reel to reel equipment; and up to the scale of machine enclosures, welded frameworks and granite structures. This is a role for a dynamic individual looking to progress your career from your first Opto-Mechanical Design role to the next stage where in addition to undertaking 3D design
using Inventor (or other 3D CAD Package) you will be introducing new technology from concept level, liaising with component vendors and meeting clients as you travel across Europe & Asia, including China, to meet with clients as your develop bespoke engineering solutions.
BSc+ in Mechanical Engineering / Physics with 2 years+ experience of developing precision machined parts & mechanisms and ideally either optomechanical or inkjet technology experience, utilising Autodesk Inventor. Advantageous could be experience with Laser Micromachining including Scribing and Ablation, Laser Scanning, Galvanometer, CNC Laser and Metallic Deposition based equipment. Candidates with experience in3D SolidWorks or ProEngineer will also be considered.
