DESIGN AND ESTIMATING ENGINEER (FIRE / SECURITY SYSTEMS) - BASED BIRMINGHAM
This is a long established, multi site, national Security Company that provides installation and maintenance services on CCTV / Intruder and Fire Alarms / Access Control to organisations UK wide.
A career minded individual with a desire to train in the design of security and fire systems and become conversant with all relevant British and European standards is now sought to provide technical support to the National Sales Team. This role offers both financial rewards and great career opportunities. Initially the role will involve CAD work and will be developed further.
MAIN DUTIES - DESIGN AND ESTIMATING ENGINEER (AUDTOCAD)
You’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting the sales team in producing accurate quotations and specifications.
- Ensuring all the relevant British and European standards are applied when designing security and fire systems.
- Using AutoCAD to produce accurate drawings.
- Communicating with the manufacturers, distributors and project teams to understand all the technical aspects of the products currently used in the company’s designs.
- Attending product training programmes from either suppliers or in house, when required.
- Ensuring prices lists are up to date on the system and communicating any technical changes to company equipment or to British and European standards to the team.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - DESIGN AND ESTIMATING ENGINEER (AUDTOCAD)
To be successful, you’ll need to demonstrate:
- Very high attention to detail.
- Strong AutoCAD and general computer skills especially Microsoft Excel.
- The ability to prioritise work under the pressure to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills both internally and externally.
- The ability to work without direct supervision within an ISO 9001:2013 environment and NSI Gold standard following training.
- An interest in discovering new technologies and solutions
You’ll also need to be energetic, positive and enthusiastic and have the ability to think logically.
