Band 5 starting salary ??35,024 per annum

Full time 37 hours per week

Central Delivery Unit, Witham

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the above role based at the Essex CRC Central DU, Witham. There will also be a requirement for countywide based travel.

The postholder is responsible for supporting the delivery of Essex CRC's health and safety priorities and business plans through effective use of our Safety Management System. You will act as our 'competent Health and Safety person' as defined by management regulations.

You will operate at both strategic and operational levels to advise the Board, the Executive and Managers on Health and Safety policies and procedures and ensure compliance and continuous improvement. The role includes monitoring and reporting on Health and Safety performance, undertaking inspections, advising on risk assessments and delivering training programmes. Coordinating our facilities management contracts is also part of the role.

You will be a confident professional, able to provide support, accurate advice and realistic solutions to staff, managers and the Health & Safety Committee.

You will need to have a minimum of 2 years experience of managing health and safety within a multi disciplined environment and be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ4 or equivalent. You should also be a corporate member of a professional safety body. A knowledge and understanding of Facilities Management and experience of managing property projects is an advantage.
