Job Purpose

Operating in both areas of the Information Centre, Information Operators are tasked with ensuring the timely and accurate input and delivery of all SIS Data, and to maintain a relevant, timely and accurate screen layout on Display Systems.

Reporting Lines and Key Relationships

The role reports to their assigned Information Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

In line with the SIS Values, the main responsibilities of the Information Operator are set out below.

Accountability

  • To ensure the provision of data collation, processing and dissemination from all areas covered by SIS Betting.
  • To ensure the effective provision of display content to all customers with SIS display systems.
  • To attend regular performance review meetings with the Information Supervisor.
  • To receive calls from SIS Racecourse staff and SIS customers; and respond in a courteous and professional manner.
  • To highlight any technical issues to the Senior Operator or the Information Supervisor.
  • To assist customers with queries; escalating to the Senior Operator or the Information Supervisor as required.

Customer Focus

  • To ensure data content is input in an accurate and timely manner.
  • To manage display content to enhance our customers business and maximise betting opportunities.
  • To respond to inbound queries in a courteous manner and escalate where necessary.
  • To develop and build effective relationships with Customers.

Teamwork

  • To assist in the training of new starters as required.
  • To develop a harmonious, effective working environment for colleagues.
  • To be flexible and multi-skilled by working in any area of the Infocentre operations.
  • To build relationships effective working relationships with SIS On-Course Representatives.

Passion

  • To escalate issues with SIS operating systems to the Information Supervisor.
  • To review processes and make suggestions to improve operations to the Information Supervisor.
  • To be committed to continuous personal development.

  • To immediately escalate any issue involving incorrect data or display management to the Senior Operator or Information Supervisor.
  • To act in accordance with all SIS Policies & Procedures.
  • To uphold the integrity of SIS by ensuring the company policy on betting is adhered to.
  • To ensure that the best interests of SIS are upheld at all times.
  • To provide high quality and timely delivery of duties.
  • To respect the confidentiality of SIS working practices outside of the workplace.
  • To ensure health & safety policy is adhered to; taking into account the wellbeing and safety of yourself and your colleagues.

Qualifications:

GCSE (or equivalent) Mathematics and English grade C or above.

Experience:

Experience of inputting data.

Experience in dealing with key customers.

An interest in horse and greyhound racing and or/sport.

Previous experience working in a bookmakers.

Other Information:

Flexibility to work shift patterns; the role is part of a 7 day a week, 16 hour per day operation which includes Bank Holidays, evenings and weekends.
