Our client, a large government organisation based in Liverpool are looking to recruit a Senior Procurement Manager for their Financial Services department.
Responsibilities:
- Lead creation and execution of designated sub-category strategies.
- Be involved in the development of market knowledge and apply this to create a deep understanding of customer requirements in area of responsibility
- Make a significant contribution to the continuous improvement of the category team's performance to customers (service, savings and spend).
- Build relationships of influence with senior customers.
- Leverage relationships to build support for and drive compliance to category strategy and SRM.
- Responsible for all commercial and contractual agreements within area of responsibility.
- Liaises with Business Partner leads
- Own and drive Supplier Relationship Management within specific category area.
- Manages and coordinates initiatives to develop the category at a sub-category level, coaching and guiding more junior team members
- Performance management of a sub-category team of up to 8 members including objective setting and regular performance reviews.
- Act as a source of expert market knowledge, insight and advice to customers
- Contribute to the development of category-specific best practice
Essential knowledge and poven background working with:
1. Procurement policy and EU procurement regulatory framework imperatives
2. Organisational specific process and strategies and their alignment with cross government policy objectives and targets
3. Procurement project resource deployment and utilization
4. Pre-procurement market engagement
5. Executing the Sourcing strategy
6. Contract finalisation and contract award
Category management:
1. Principle and process knowledge
2. Initiating a procurement management process
3. Developing the procurement strategy
4. Implement the procurement strategy
5. Maintaining and improving the category
Salary: ??45,000 - ??55,000 per annum + great benefits package!
