An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an International Business Advisor to join U.S. Embassy London's Commercial Service team.
The U.S. Commercial Service (CS), the trade and investment promotion arm of the U.S. Department of Commerce, is business in government, helping U.S. companies to export and identify opportunities in new markets. The CS offers the trade counselling, market intelligence, business matchmaking, and commercial diplomacy that U.S. companies need to connect with lucrative business opportunities, not only in the United Kingdom, but across Europe. In addition to promoting U.S. exports, the CS facilitates foreign direct investment in the United States.
Are you a strategic thinker, "quick to think" on your feet, who enjoys creating sustainable trade and investment opportunities? As a CS International Business Advisor you would be at the center of developing the U.S and UK bilateral commercial relationship and have full ownership of a diverse portfolio of sectors, including: advanced manufacturing (i.e. ceramics, composites, alloys, process controls and robotics), construction (i.e. HVAC, building products and ACE services) and safety and security products. As a subject matter expert within your portfolio, you would be expected to deliver customized, multi-market business services to a varied client base, while extending your sector knowledge to support the CS team wherever necessary across a range of sectors and markets in Europe.
In assigned sectors, duties will include, but are not limited to: promoting and facilitating U.S. exports of goods and services; providing in-depth business counselling to U.S. exporters on complex regulations related to the UK and European markets; advising U.S. exporters on UK and pan-European strategies for market entry and expansion. Duties will also involve: preparing customized matchmaking services; participating as a speaker in briefings, seminars, and webinars; planning, organizing, and promoting a variety of trade events; researching and monitoring markets to identify and report on trade and business opportunities; writing in-depth, analytical market research reports and highlights; developing and maintaining mid to high-level contacts in government, trade associations and the business community; counselling UK business executives on prospective U.S. suppliers and partners; promoting the U.S. as a destination for foreign direct investment.
If this opportunity interests you, we'd welcome your application via our website. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in contact. We want to hear from you.
This vacancy is open until filled.
