Mortgage Underwriter - Manchester - 6 months Contract - ??negotiable??

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mortgage Underwriter, to work on a contract basis with one of the UK's most recognised banks.

The business offer a friendly working environment in the heart of Manchester, where the Mortgage Underwriter will assess and make lending decisions on high risk, high value and complex mortgage applications.

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver excellent customer service.
• Contact customers directly to deliver complex lending decisions.
• Identifying trends and making recommendations for changes to process and lending policy.
• Make risk based assessments on: loans exceeding ??250,000, self employed customers, referred applications which do not meet the minimum credit score or affordability requirements and referred applications which do not meet lending policy.
• Achieve defined Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements.

The ideal candidate will be/have:

• CeMap 1, 2 and 3 qualified.
• A minimum of 1 years mortgage related experience.
• Excellent customer service and call handling skills.
• The ability to make decisions based on knowledge and assessment of risk.
