The exciting role of Academies Support Lead is to start as soon as possible, to be based in Nottingham, for an initial period of 12 months. The full time salary of this role is an attractive salary of up to £67,000.

The role is to act as a pivotal link in the evolution of the academies sponsor strategies into is given education establishments and its educational partner.

The main areas of responsibility include:


  • Governance Relationships - Playing a lead role in academies governance through, sponsor and strategy meetings, attending Local Governing Bodies as an observer, meetings with Headteachers, being the link with the DfE alongside educational input during Ofsted monitoring visits.
  • Project Management - Taking the lead in the project development on the journey towards opening, and the first year, of new educational establishments opening.
  • Educational excellence - Ensuring the delivery of first class education through the provision of high calibre teaching professionals within secondary schools, monitor academic achievement and predications, and support the enrichment of the educational experience.
  • Risk Management and reporting - Advising all stakeholders on current educational policy, safeguarding checks, risk assessments and report writing.
  • Staff Management and budget deployment

  • The successful candidate will possess the following:

    • Teaching qualification
    • Knowledge of schools and schools improvement, being able to demonstrate a sound understanding of the challenges they face
    • Experience of working in a senior role within either a primary, secondary or FE environment
    • Understand the importance of networks in achieving success in schools
    • Great written and oral communication skills
    • Proactive approach, with the ability to make decisions and be accountable for them
    • Able to exert influence in complex organisations to bring about change
    • Ability to balance short term operational pressures with long term project delivery
    • Experience of leading change
    • Experience of chairing meetings
    • Effective project management
    • Awareness of Data Protection and Child Protection legislation
