Job title: Manager - Education & Skills Engineering
Salary: £32000.00 - £32000.00 per annum
Location: Blackburn, BB1 3BD
A challenging and exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Manager - Education and Skills (Engineering), within the Engineering Department.
This position will require strong managerial skills in the management and development of staff and a comprehensive understanding and experience of the Engineering sector and its strategic issues will be of vital importance.
Reporting to the Business Manager - Education and Skills (Engineering), the successful candidate will be responsible for the operational running of and quality standards Apprenticeship delivery and the training centres as well as staff development and budget responsibilities. It will require effectively delivering SFA and EFA funding provision, whilst developing/delivering customer responsive commercial courses and projects which are essential to the success of the department.
This position will involve significant business development activity and requires a comprehensive knowledge and experience of the Engineering sector. You will also be required to lead the team to achieve agreed targets. Highly effective communication and customer focused skills will be essential in relationship and team development as well as a thorough understanding of workforce development programmes, including apprenticeship frameworks.
The post involves travel and therefore, a current full driving licence is essential.
Appointments are subject to the receipt of a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS; formally the CRB), or a check via the Update Service on a relevant enhanced disclosure. Further information can be obtained from www.gov.co.uk.
