Key Skills

  • Background in either structural integrity, valve design or manufacture, electro-mechanical component expertise.
  • Background in a relevant industry, such as heavily regulated operations, or products and services where high levels of reliability and integrity are required.
  • Knowledge of using ASME or other relevant design codes.
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent knowledge).
  • Chartered engineer or be able to demonstrate sufficient background to become Chartered.
  • A good appreciation of practical mechanical engineering.
  • An ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Rapid problem diagnosis and development of solutions - being able to apply practical solutions to technical problems.
  • An ability to provide clear, concise and accurate technical reports in Microsoft Word
Role

you'll be centred within the team primarily responsible for the design, manufacture and technical justification of components, having a good mix of analysis based justification work, verification and validation of components versus the reactive responses required by manufacturing and operational issues.
  • Applying techniques such as design for manufacture, design for assembly, concurrent engineering.
  • Providing support to customers around the rapid evaluation of problems and defects, and giving specialist advice to prepare and present solutions.
  • Supporting the manufacturing of components, the resolution of manufacturing queries and defining, planning and reporting development.
  • Writing safety justifications to support the plant life extension of components in service.
