We have an urgent need for an experienced Core Network (Voice) Designer to join our delivery team, working from our customer site in Berkshire.

We would consider candidates seeking either permanent employment or contract opportunities.

Reporting to the Senior Core Network Services Architect the role holder will participate in the development and design of Network Architectures and Networks processes, ensuring that sound design and customer impact thinking and longer term future requirements have been taken into account.

This role includes technical support to complex inter-operator and partner projects. They will participate in impact assessment of new projects, which includes Devices, Integrated Organisation, NDA special projects and Marketing initiatives and with current trends.

Producing high level designs for bearer network support of new services.

Delivering integrated designs across bearer network components to support major new network capabilities (e.g. IMS, VoLTE, SIP, Core Network & IN etc. )

Providing the expertise into end to end design forums to support the company to provide efficient cost effective solutions.

The role holder will provide consultancy on behalf of Networks out to other parts of the Business, including all internal Networks Teams, Technology Strategy teams, Sales, Marketing, Devices, Customer Services and New Business areas.

You will be able to:

  • Produce the end to end Technical feasibility solution and high level design for complex implementations working with teams across multi-disciplined areas.
  • Produce vendor technical requirements for complex network implementations.
  • Produce joint negotiated technical solutions with other OLO/Partners.
  • Produce network impact analysis and service designs for new services/product requirements.
  • Produce detailed requirements for vendors to meet Service requirements.
  • Review detailed equipment specifications from suppliers to ensure compliance to the clients requirements
  • Ensuring each Network Architecture Design has resiliency and robustness designs for the Network for new projects
  • Providing skills, expertise and knowledge that helps identify and solve service issues and impacts in Network Architecture and designs.
  • Provide a role in ensuring that Network Design Teams work collaboratively and that designs line up across the Network space.

You will have:

  • Experience and proven track record in the end to end design of major cellular network service implementations.
  • Proven ability to interface and operate in the detailed technical environments with OLO/Partner networks.
  • Proven track record in production of accurate and complete technical requirements specifications and ensuring clarity and conformance with infrastructure vendors
  • Experience of dealing with equipment vendors.
  • Good team working skills, able to work in multi-disciplined teams.
  • Good commercial awareness is required.
  • Knowledge of technology in the standards arena
  • Extensive knowledge of cellular networks and networking principles (UMTS&GSM)
  • Extensive knowledge of signaling and signaling protocols
  • Extensive knowledge of cellular and fixed switching elements
  • Understanding of traffic and switching theory
  • Understanding of Radio theory and principles
  • Excellent communications skills, including ability to explain detailed technical concepts and design principles
  • Ability to undertake a number of complex projects simultaneously
  • Expected education qualifications would include a Degree in Engineering or relevant long term technical specialism.
