Our Enterprise Architecture team is responsible for ensuring that all IT investments are co-ordinated and work towards our combined IT vision and strategy. Performing this task, in a company growing as fast as easyJet with a large dependency on IT, isn't easy and requires as much pragmatism as technical and domain expertise. The team's responsibilities include defining and communicating the IT strategy, road-mapping and acting as a technical design authority across the whole portfolio of change.

The role

This innovate team now require a Solution Architect to be responsible for end to end solution design. The Solution Architect will recommend the preferred solution, ensuring that it adheres to defined architecture standards and fits with the wider enterprise architecture and is aligned to business requirements (both current and future). By defining all elements of the solution, including (but not limited to) application components, logical data models, infrastructure and integration, you will take full ownership of the solution and communicate it to the delivery and service teams (both in house and third party). Working as one team,' you will contribute to the wider architecture function and help define the over-arching enterprise architecture standards and policies. Liaising with external parties, suppliers and internal members of the IT team and business units to research, define and document the systems architecture and high level designs for major new initiatives. This is a truly exciting time to join the IT team here at easyJet. You will be able to utilise cutting edge technology and be part of key IT programmes that span the business.

It is essential that you have experience of designing / implementing solutions using MS stack, including:

  • C# .net (at least version 4)
  • ASP.net MVC
  • Web JS frameworks such as jquery, knockout etc
  • WCF
  • SQL Server
  • Other .net based applications such as NServiceBus
  • Must have experience of SOA, API Design and distributed architectures
  • Practical experience of agile software development
  • Demonstrable experience of designing high quality software solutions in line with business needs and timescales
  • A good working knowledge of the airline and/ or eCommerce industry would be highly beneficial
