Lead Business Analyst - Payment Card - Digital Wallet - Halifax - £505/day

Purpose of the Programme

Our client, a leading UK retail bank require the services of a Lead Business Analyst to work within the Debit Cards and Payments area to support the project team in identifying and documenting key operational processes and requirements for new and future payment products including support for the digital wallet payment products, person to person payments and mobile in store payments.

Core Skills

The role requires an individual with previous banking and payment card knowledge and experience. Previous future payment technology experience is required with preferable examples including electronic and mobile commerce, in-store mobile payment technology and person to person payments.

The candidate must have strong analytical and presentational skills, comfortable working independently to self-determined deadlines as well as contributing to broader project team discussion and delivery. 

  • To ensure a common understanding of the business needs and the project deliverables within the context of debit cards and future payments
  • Manage business requirements and produce process models
  • Co-ordinate and/or contribute to the design, development and specification of new/revised processes and systems, documentation, training materials, etc
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all project deliverables
  • Develop and maintains effective working relationships with appropriate colleagues in own and other business units, ensuring key stakeholders are identified and effectively managed
  • Assist in the review of project documentation that is produced (eg Feasibility Studies, Functional Specifications)
  • Assist with the management of the IT relationship and relationships with Third Party suppliers to ensure development is completed to the required specification, within timescales and to agreed budget

  • Analytical skills - Ability to present results in the required format and ability to communicate results to a wider audience if necessary
  • Previous banking and payment card experience is essential, including advanced knowledge of the card manufacturing and personalisation services. Exposure to electronic and mobile payments and/or banking is useful.
  • Excellent planning/organisational skills
  • Explains or presents factual information to individuals or groups in a structured, clear, confident and concise way avoiding the use of jargon
  • Can produce detailed reports and other written material of a technical/complex nature, adapts style and content to audience
  • Strong presentation/facilitation skills in order to draw out a consensus view within a group discussion
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key contact in all relevant areas; strong stakeholder management
  • Considers the full needs of all stakeholders and considers the impact of the recipient of the changes they are proposing and takes appropriate action to engage end users in the development and implementation planning
  • Proven experience of working through challenges, identifying and considering alternative solutions and making recommendations based upon sound judgements
  • Strong and regular association with key stakeholders to recognise future business needs and drivers.
