Purpose of the Role:

The Account Development Manager will deliver our clients Account Development Programme. The aim of this programme is to get into competitive 'fortresses' and close New Business opportunities within new accounts. The role holder will (a) map the key decision makers and influencers; (b) develop a penetration strategy and (c) execute it, using the optimum mix of internal and partner resources.

Account Development Managers will be able to think laterally and spot opportunities for our clients services/solutions.

Responsibilities/Duties:

The role holder will;

  • Research the portfolio enterprise prospects, identifying contacts and points of competitive weakness,
  • Build business relationships with potential partners
  • Use the research and relationships to position an client solution and sell it, in order to get 'through the door' for subsequent leverage.

They will be expected to;

  • Exceed designated Revenue and Margin targets as set out within the Compensation Plan
  • Build a successful channel route to market for the full product portfolio
  • Identify the specific role the channel community will play in the end user customer supply chain
  • Identify and recruit potential channel partners
  • Build appropriate propositions for potential partners that drive additional product portfolios into clearly defined market segments
  • Drive incremental business from accounts within the sector
  • Maintain accurate records within company CRM system at all times
  • Provide accurate sales and margin forecasts

Experience/Personal Attributes

They role holder should be a very senior sales specialists with a track record of success in getting in front of senior decision makers, relationship building, and high-level selling

The successful candidate will be a confident and independent action taker who has a sense of urgency and the ability to make decisions and take responsibility for them. A well suited candidate will react and adjust quickly to change. Their style should be purposeful and directed at getting things done quickly. There is a great deal of pressure and challenge which should be handled with confidence and determination. They should be self-disciplined and able to handle detail. The role requires self-assurance and drive.

Their outlook should support the attitude that results are commensurate with effort and invested time.

Working Conditions:

The remuneration package reflects the complexity of the task and the potential benefits to our client

The role holder will be expected to work the hours required to deliver the objectives of the role. Their territory will be international so travel will be required.

The Account Development Manager organises their time to cover ongoing priorities and will make arrangements to cover whenever absence is unavoidable. They use time efficiently during regularly scheduled hours so that extra hours are not inevitable, but is responsive to additional requirements or demands when necessary
