Job Title: Analyst

Location: Bradford

Salary: Up To £35,000 pa

Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm

Job Role:

Through analysis and evaluation, the candidate will be expected to produce strategic and tactical intelligence assessments, target and problem profiles and the nine National Intelligence Model Products to identify and report upon evolving and existing crime patterns, trends, series and clusters to enable informed local management decision making.  To provide intelligence packages for Tactical & Coordinating Group meetings and attend those meetings.  To prepare strategic analysis using inputs from the IMS product and Sentinel products to produce outputs through the i2 Analysts notebook devising methods of combining the flow of such data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and retrieve information from a diverse range of computer and manual data sources in order to analyse intelligence, information, incidents and crimes with a view to identify links and associations between the data.
  • Monitor and evaluate the significance of patterns and trends in crime and incidents on a daily basis.
  • Prepare and present strategic and tactical intelligence assessments, target, subject and problem profiles, and the nine National Intelligence Model analytical products to corporate templates, proposing possible solutions to current and predicted incidents of crime and disorder.
  • Assist with the detection and prevention of crime through close liaison with other Personnel and advise on the identification of suspects suggested by comparative study of descriptions, behaviour, MO, Spatial Crime & Intelligence Pattern Analysis and any other information compiled during the investigative process utilising advance analytical techniques.
  • Liaison with other staff including Crime Analysts to identify cross border activity, establishing good working relationships with other organisations engaged with crime and loss prevention.
  • Prepare statements for court to explain methods used to analyse data and exhibit charts, attending court where necessary to present and explain the evidence assisting in decision-making.
  • Implement and act in accordance with the organisations information security policies
  • Protect assets from unauthorised access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference
  • Report security events or potential events or other security risks to the organisation
  • To utilise i2 Analysts notebook to produce intelligence products from all strands of data within the IMAC to strategic level.

Essential Requirements:

  • Educated to BTEC National Level or equivalent qualification or directly relevant experience.  To hold a NPIA recognised Intelligence Analyst Qualification
  • Thorough understanding of the interpretation and graphical representation of Data and all current analytical techniques
  • Previous experience of analysing complex data accurately
  • Good working knowledge and ability to operate computerised databases. To be highly conversant in all Microsoft office products especially Excel and be able to produce high level reports
  • Detailed knowledge of Data Protection Act and the disclosure of information as it relates to the work of the Department.
