Position: Electrical and Instrument Technician
Location: Stalybridge
Salary: Circa £37,000 per annum inclusive of call out/shift payments

The Company:
Our client’s principal activity is to produce and sell specialty and intermediate chemicals to other manufacturers for use in a variety of end products. The Group has three reportable segments: Surfactants, Polymers and Specialty products. Surfactants are the key ingredients in consumer and industrial cleaning compounds. These products are used by manufacturers of detergents, shampoos, lotions, toothpastes and cosmetics who depend on surfactants to achieve the foaming and cleaning qualities required for the products. Other applications include lubricating ingredients and emulsifiers for agricultural products, plastics and composites.
The Role:
The focus of the Electrical and Instrument Technician role will be to provide engineering support to production to maximise plant efficiencies and minimise downtime through a combination of planned, preventative, predictive and reactive maintenance.
The Ideal Candidate Will Be:
- Competent in inspection, testing and defect rectification of electrical and instrumentation on a top tier COMAH site.
- Competent in ATEX / DSEAR hazardous area inspection, testing and defect rectification work to BS60079 standards.
- Adheres to and Carries out electrical work to standards and methods set out in the Electricity At Works Act and BS7671.
- Have a Recognised electrical qualification e g BS7671 and relevant competency gained through knowledge & experience.
- Knowledge of ATEX / DESEAR systems and good knowledge and experience in carrying out related or similar testing, inspection and rectification work.
- Good awareness & knowledge of SIS systems and has performed related or similar work.
- Can work in a team and on their own (unsupervised).
- Has a flexible approach.
