Manager
(Assertive Engagement Service)
Bristol

Salary: £32,072 – £35,784 p.a.

Full Time 37.5 hours per week

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
•    Knowledge and experience in delivering a high standard specialist mental health service provision for a client group.
•    Skills and experience in managing, leading and motivating staff; including reviewing their development and identify their training needs.

THE COMPANY
St Mungo’s Broadway provides a bed and support to more than 2,500 people a night who are either homeless or at risk, and works to prevent homelessness, helping about 25,000 people a year. We believe no one should be homeless and that people can – and do – recover from the issues that create homelessness.  We support men and women through more than 200 projects including emergency, hostel and supportive housing.

St Mungo’s Broadway was awarded the Assertive Engagement Service Commission in April 2014. The multi-located service focuses on supporting people from the homeless community, those with complex needs including substance use and health issues.  It is flexible, personalised, clinically led and maximises social inclusion; for individuals who may be traditionally excluded from mainstream services or who find accessing them more challenging.   As well as supporting clients’ progression into mainstream services, emphasis will be on signposting and client referrals into the most appropriate elements of Bristol Mental Health.

THE ROLE
As an Assertive Engagement Service Manager you will be responsible for managing the whole service including the effective delivery of engagement, training, clinical services and volunteering opportunities within the service. Your other responsibilities will include:
•    Leading, motivating and supporting a team of staff to effectively, assess, support and understand individual client needs and aspirations.
•    Promoting client recovery and closely liaising with internal departments and external agencies.
•    Ensuring that the service and its staff can equip clients with the coping strategies, skills and confidence to eventually move into mainstream provision.

THE PERSON
The ability to communicate with a wide range of people and establish and maintain close and effective working relationships with others is essential to this position.  Confidence to develop and implement new ideas, the determination to deliver results and the strength to rise to new challenges are also requirements of the role.
