Senior Research Executive

• Based in Birmingham
• Salary: £24000 plus benefits
• Permanent contract
• Contracted hours 35 hours per week
• 25 days holiday rising to 30 days

One of the leading social research agencies in the country with a turnover approaching £6 million per annum is seeking a Senior Research Executive to join their expanding team in Birmingham, West Midlands. Their clients include central government departments, government agencies, local authorities, housing associations and other social landlords, police forces and the health sector.

The job title of ‘Senior’ relates simply to the level of experience and has no relevance to age. You are encouraged to apply for any opportunities that you feel to be suitable, irrespective of age or level of experience.

The successful Senior Research Executive will be working as a reliable member of the Research Team, providing internal support in all aspects of research delivery, project management, tendering and business development. They will contribute to the smooth running of the team, building internal expertise and adding value across the business. Your portfolio of work would be varied, and would involve you working with clients in central government departments, as well as in the housing and local government sectors.

Main Duties & Responsibilities of a Senior Research Executive:

• Day to day management of research projects under the guidance of your line manager, including:
• Questionnaire/script design and development
• Liaising with clients regarding questionnaire/script/project design and approval
• Sample frame design, target grid development and sample sourcing
• Ensuring CATI/CAPI/Online scripting is consistent and of a high quality
• Checking and proof reading interim and final data outputs and analysis reports for accuracy (numerically and against brief)
• Effective liaison with operational departments
• Monitoring project progress during fieldwork and against key milestones and take action as required
• Updating client with progress on project as required

• Conducting background research to support with proposal/report writing
• Writing proposals based on client specifications for review by the Research Manager/Research Director
• Overseeing outputs from Operations and ensuring accurate and timely delivery of projects
• Developing and enhancing client relations by timely and appropriate response to client needs
• Writing reports for review by the Research Manager/Research Director
• Planning groups and depth interviewing where necessary
• Undertake qualitative research (moderating focus groups/depths) professionally and courteously using appropriate techniques and materials
• Working with Research Manager/Research Director to develop client de-briefs and present data.
• Contributing to the direction of the research department with regards to business development and client service activities
• Quality Management:
• Compliance with all Information Security procedures
• Compliance with the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and procedures at all times
• Work in full awareness and adherence to MRS guidelines
• Ensuring that a quality and responsive service is provided to clients at all times


THE IDEAL SENIOR RESEARCH EXECUTIVE WILL HOLD THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:

• Degree qualification (2:1 or above)
• Research qualifications desirable
• Previous agency experience as a research executive (desirable)
• Thorough knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research techniques
• A high standard of attention to detail
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Possess effective business writing and reporting skills
• Good communication, presenting and influencing skills
• Be comfortable in a client facing role, representing the company at client meetings and presentations
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Ability to prioritise, plan, manage and organise own and others work effectively
• Contributes to the effectiveness of the team
• Competent user of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel
