Main purpose of the Research Director role:
Reporting to the Managing Director you will take a lead role in achieving our ambitious growth plans. The Research Director is responsible for client service, project planning, research resourcing, supporting Marketing and business development and research team development. Initially you will be heavily involved with existing clients and projects but looking at how to develop the research team in line with business growth.
Accountability:
(The accountability for resource i.e. people, budgets, systems, know how etc.)
> To build and manage the Research team, identifying training needs, appraisals and continuous development, career progression
> Ensure that the research team recognise the need for growth and for change and given sufficient opportunities to develop and succeed within the business
> To identify future resource needs within the Research Team and submit proposals with costs for consideration within the budget
> Provide a working environment which is rewarding and where people have a passion for the work they do
> Coach and mentor the research team to help realise their developmental potential and identify training needs where necessary
Research Director Required Skills, Expertise & Education:
> Extensive industry/sector experience
> In a role of management level or associate director
> Quantitative and qualitative research skills
> Broad level of experience gained within research i.e. Customer Satisfaction / Employee satisfaction/loyalty/customer panels/ communities
> Management skills; can manage a team of employees
> Delivering projects on time, to specification
> Excellent client management skills; client focused and experienced in dealing directly with clients on a daily basis including face-to-face.
> Have extensive experience of performing value-added Quantitative and Qualitative Research at a senior level
> Multi-industry experience (would be helpful)
> Be confident in business development and, be confident in recognising business opportunities with existing and new clients
> Writing proposals and negotiating re costs and contract agreements
> Commercial understanding
