Our client is looking to recruit a Business Manager to focus on developing its highly successful and expanding Commercial Team.
This is an exciting and highly visible position within the organisation.
Our client is Europe's largest independent pharmaceutical research and development staffing organisation. With a turnover of €14m and partnerships with eight out of the top 10 global pharmaceutical companies, as well as medical device organisations, emerging biotechs, Clinical Research Organisations (CROs), medical communications agencies, regulatory bodies and research charities.
As of May 2014 team is 65 strong across three offices, with candidates placed in 15 countries around Europe. Staff development remains one of the key elements of the business strategy, with high levels of staff retention one of the reasons that the company is able to offer such excellent continuity of service to clients.
Detailed market research carried out in early 2013 found that 95% of hiring managers rate our client as consistently superior in quality, speed of response, staff retention and communication. In addition to this, nine out of 10 customers rate the company as their most trusted partner.
During 2014 our client is continuing it’s growth with another office opening in Brussels and a branch in Southern Ireland. The Belgian and Irish offices have become further milestones in our clients expansion across Europe, with its locations helping to grow its professional operation.
The Role & Requirements
Managing a team of 3 the Business Manager will report into the Divisional Director and will be based in Central London with travel to Clients as appropriate in the UK / EU
The position is responsible for achieving the continuation and acceleration of a currently growing, profitable and high performing team. The Business Manager will be expected to ensure consistent focus and delivery of key drivers of the business for yourself and team.
You will manage a selection of clients personally (leading from the front) and ensure your team also develop in line with targeted business objectives. Desk Management, organisation and planning will be an essential part of the role of Business Manager and their team.
Day to day motivational team management, leadership, excellent communication and drive for results are key to this role. As with all dynamic and growing businesses the role is subject to change based on growth and aligned with market trends.
We are open to those who have experience in other fields such as: Marketing, Procurement, HR, IT, Finance, Construction and Engineering etc
Experience;
• Experienced in developing new business and leveraging existing business relationships
• Used to working in a collaborative focused environment
• Experience of developing and leading a team preferable but not necessary
• Used to making quick but sensible business decisions based on market knowledge
• Previous management experience desirable but not essential.
Professional skills;
• Fluent written and spoken English necessary for advert writing and professionally presented CV’s and Internal Reports,
• Experienced in the field of recruitment and or industry
• You must be able to demonstrate you have worked in a target driven environment with quantifiable personal achievements.
Qualifications:
• English and Maths GCSE or equivalent
• Preferred A Levels/Degree or equivalent, but not essential, more important are the competencies within urgency/drive etc. (see below)
