Our client has an exciting opportunity for an innovative and committed individual to implement the successful implementation of the Deafblind Active programme funded by Sports England.
Deafblind Active is a new venture for our client, working with sports providers to build community capacity to give more disabled people opportunities to access sport.

About the job
Our client is a national charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind. They provide tailored support, advice and information as well as specialist services to all deafblind people, their families, carers and the professionals who work with them. In addition, they support people who have a single-sensory impairment with additional needs.
They have always recognised that deafblind children and adults can express themselves through art as artists, participants or as an audience. Over the years, they have seen their portfolio of arts and physical activities programmes develop so that, today, it encompasses visual, sensory and tactile art and much more.
Are you an excellent, IT literate administrator, able to communicate assertively and effectively? Are you committed to disability sport and understand the needs to disabled people? If so, they would really like to hear from you.
The successful candidate will ultimately be responsible for coordinating the delivery of the programme and be the main point of contact for participants and partner organisations. They will organise a range of sporting activities for deafblind people to within defined performance targets, and administer all aspects of the programme to a high standard.
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a positive attitude towards work, colleagues and service users. You will have previous administrative experience, particularly in setting up and delivering community sports programmes for disabled people. An ability to communicate using sign or symbolic language will be an advantage.
This is a temporary role that is expected to end on 1st April 2016.
