Our client is a global chemical company serving customers in water-intensive industries.
They have an excellent opportunity for a Product Manager to join the team. The position within the Oil & Mining’ EMEA Product Management group is focused on all aspects of product management for the Polymer product line for the Oil & Mining Segment EMEA region. This position is to be located at one of our manufacturing sites in Bradford, UK or Botlek, The Netherlands.
Product portfolio and lifecycle management, product line strategy development – asset strategy, asset management - lane optimization, inventory and service level strategy, product stewardship, understanding competitive landscape are the primary roles for the position.
Listed below are the key responsibilities of the position:
Execute the product line strategy
Asses key raw material price trends and their effect on the product line and recommend price changes
Rationalize products to optimize market offerings and improve plant efficiency
Volume, assets and SKU management
Provide all product stewardship aspects of the product line
Assist in troubleshooting product quality problems
Define customers’ service level indicators in cooperation with marketing
Product introduction and product data maintenance in SAP
Develop and maintain product literature and other sales tools
Understand competitive landscape by actively gathering competitive intelligence
Implement product stewardship plans for the business, thereby enabling the business to ensure that business risk is managed properly and the products are used in compliance with regulatory requirement
Ensure that Product Specifications, MSDS and regulatory info are accurate and up to date.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline with business experience in the Chemical Industry, ideally in Product Management or Supply Chain. Strong project leadership skills, self-motivation, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment are critical. Excellent communication and organizational skills are necessary to ensure effective cooperation with all functions. Ability to translate global initiatives into regional EMEA level actions whilst being adaptable to various cultures and business practices is desired.
