MANDATORY EXPERIENCE
• Mortgage Underwriting experience.

THE ROLE
As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will assist the Administration and Underwriting Manager in ensuring that the admin and underwriting functions operate effectively and efficiently, ensuring all business written complies with the company’s and lender’s criteria. Your other roles and responsibilities will include:
• Processing and underwriting applications.
• Liaising with valuers, solicitors and intermediaries as appropriate.
• Ensuring that all business written complies with the Company’s and funder’s lending criteria.
• Adhering to all money laundering, data protection and other regulatory requirements.
• Processing all applications within agreed timescales.
• Ensuring all applications comply with Equity Release Council Guidelines.
• Reporting any concerns over underwriting issues to the Administration and Underwriting Manager.
• Providing Management Information (stats) as appropriate.
• Contributing to the development of Company’s policies and regimes.
• Ensuring that all client files are always complete and up to date.
• Recording new business referrals and updating team spread sheets.
• Photocopying and submitting client notes for compliance purposes.
• Supporting the manager in devising new and improving existing underwriting and administrative procedures.
• Taking responsibility for ad hoc projects as requested by the Administration and Underwriting Manager.
• Other ad hoc administrative duties as required.

THE PERSON
You will be a presentable and highly organised individual with a keen attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work. You will be an effective communicator, able to deal with colleagues and clients in a professional and confident manner. The ability to prioritise and work to strict deadlines is essential.
