Senior Design Engineer - Solutions Northampton
to £55k + car + bonus (realistic package value c£65k+)
Our client is recognized as one of the UK’s market leaders in the area of automated materials handling solutions, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and self motivated Senior Solutions Design professional to complement their established and successful team. Reporting to the Solutions Manager, the successful candidate will analyse, model and design automated materials handling solutions for the logistics industry and create effective technical proposal documents to support the sales bid process.
Tasked with analysing customer requirements, you will model data flows to support solution designs and will prepare technical proposal documents, whilst designing automated warehouse solutions for clients on a global basis on equipment and system projects of up to £6m in value. Liaising with suppliers to assess the most appropriate equipment for company bids, you will keep abreast of technical developments to ensure such bids utilise the most current and appropriate technology and will both arrange and participate in meetings, conferences, and project team activities to ensure ongoing market and technology awareness is maintained.
Working with a range of internal and external customers including senior sales personnel, automation suppliers and general engineering teams, it is essential that you demonstrate effective communication skills at all levels and the ability to work autonomously under pressure as well as part of a team, possessing proven problem solving skills and the ability to understand customer drivers when offering a solution coupled with the flexible approach required to travel to customer locations when required.
