An outstanding opportunity to work with one of the world’s leading developers of renewable technology. This privately owned business is a genuine innovator of renewable technology and is looking to make the key appointment of Senior Mechanical Engineer.
The Role
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design development, qualification, manufacture, operation and maintenance of Energy Converters.
Specific responsibilities will include:
• Design of mechanical and structural components, from concept through to production of detailed design packages including workshop drawings as required.
• Support R&D activities such as design optimisation and manufacturing cost reduction of main fabrications.
• Liaise with subcontractors and monitor progress against schedule
• Production of design verification reports and liaison with third party verification body as required.
• Participate in FMEA sessions and development of risk based inspection strategy and procedures
• Compilation of design and as built documentation for third-party / client review for verification and inspection procedures
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have a relevant degree level qualification (Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering Offshore/Marine Engineering etc.) with excellent design and manufacturing experience of welded structures, cast and machined components.
Additionally, he/she will have excellent knowledge of 3D CAD software, including the creation of production drawings and be familiar with the international codes and standards relating to the design and analysis of structures for both strength and in particular fatigue performance.
