Job Title: Residential Care Home Manager

Location: You will be based in Dewsbury

Salary: up to £27,500 dependant on experience and qualifications and subject to registration with CQC and completion of probation

The Organisation: CareTech Community Services is a national provider of support for people with complex and challenging behaviours associated with autism, learning disabilities, mental health illness and neurological conditions. We support people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and also in residential care.

The Role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong Registered Manager to manage our residential home with an experienced and well established team in Dewsbury.

Templefields is a 14 bed residential home for people with learning disabilities which is split into two homes, the home is spacious with a large garden. The service user group is varied and includes people with challenging behaviours, autism, aspergers, acquired brain injury, sensory impairment, diabetes and epilepsy; there is a range of abilities from people who need constant 1:1 support throughout the day to those who go out independently on a regular basis. We adopt person centred approaches, promote independence and encourage community participation for all service users.

Responsibilities of the Care Home Manager:
* To deliver a high level of quality support to Service Users and staff
* To promote positive and personalised outcomes of Service Users
* To lead and coach a team of clinical and support workers
* To promote the service externally, maximising available capacity
* To manage the service within agreed financial budgets

The Candidate:

The successful candidate for the role will have:
* Proven experience of managing and developing specialist Learning disability, Mental Health and Complex needs services
* Good team building and coaching skills
* Minimum level 4 or above or equivalent or willingness to achieve to this level
* Learning disability experience and experience in supervisory role
* Knowledge and first-hand experience of current Health & social Care legislation, including the Mental Health Act.
* Demonstrable evidence of supporting people in a person centred way.
* Experience of managing budgets and budget control
* An understanding of, and commitment to Equal Opportunities
* Ability to communicate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams, both internally and externally
* Have sound knowledge and understanding of the CQC Compliance standards & Safeguarding Adults.
