Job Title: International Business Development Manager

Location: Home Based - The post will require extensive international travel, initially to Africa, with the expectation of spending 18-20 weeks' a year out of the country. An expenses budget will be provided.

Salary: £35,000 pa + Uncapped Commission

The company provide Schools, Colleges and Universities with a one stop shop for the supply and installation of quality products and equipment for the Design & Technology curriculum. The company's product range of around 12,000 products includes the latest CAD/CAM solutions, Electronics, Machine Tools, Engineering, Graphics, Arts & Crafts, Textiles and Food Technology equipment.

Job Role:

International sales growth is a high priority for the company. With a growing presence already in export markets they are now investing in this new role to reap further rewards. The aim of this role is to establish and then develop year-on-year sales growth for Technology Supplies' Design & Technology equipment supply and workshop installation service across key African and South American markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Business Development, the successful applicant will possess a blend of international sales and business development experience - ideally gained within the educational sector in African markets. This role also requires experience in establishing and managing an international network of distributors/resellers to achieve growth and market share, turning sales opportunities into sales revenue.

Training will be provided, incorporating sales strategies and technical familiarisation with the company's products and services, to support the following essential duties and responsibilities:

* Prospect for new business and business partnerships across Africa and South America.
* Identify, develop and manage distributor/reseller relationships to influence and drive sales growth.
* The business plan should address the requirement for distributors/resellers to transition to Value Added Resellers (VARs) through the addition of services such as installation and commissioning of equipment, as well as customer training and after sales support and servicing.
* Develop, manage and strengthen all facets of distributor/reseller and customer interaction, including face-to-face visits with each distributor/reseller to develop relationships and manage major accounts and prospects effectively.

* Undertake quarterly business reviews for each market with a YTD Actual v Budget review and recommended remedial actions where required.
* Work with the internal teams at Technology Supplies to develop ongoing and effective training and enablement programs for the VARs / Distributors and monitor and manage their performance.

Education & Work Experience:

* A track record of successful selling into international (African and South American ideally) markets is essential with a history of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
* Experience of working in sales roles undertaking both direct sales as well as undertaking joint selling with distributor channels to develop Value Added Resellers is essential.
* Extensive business development and sales experience
* Degree or equivalent qualification / experience.
* Fluency in both oral and written English (for effective communication with clients and in the preparation and delivery of presentations and reports).
