Previous experience of working with people with a learning disability for a minimum of 3 years, with a minimum of 1 years' experience in a senior role with managerial responsibilities.

Has significant experience of developing individual support and development plans and can evidence their implementation and success at achieving outcomes.

Understanding and commitment to citizenship and the seven outcomes for social care as set out in Independence, well-being and choice.

Ability to interpret philosophy into practice.

Ability to support people in accessing and using community facilities.

Ability to advocate for the people we serve within their home and in the community.

Demonstrates a positive understanding and attitude of equality towards people with learning disabilities.

Demonstrates a sound understanding of personalisation and bespoke outcomes for the people we serve.

Ability to teach and coach new skills/life skills including budgeting, shopping, self-help and advocacy according to needs of an individual or a group of people.

Respect confidentiality for people and for staff at all times.

Ability to teach and coach new skills to the staff team with a commitment to providing "experiential learning" situations for the team.

Knowledge and commitment to quality assurance and monitoring.

Demonstrates practical skills in time management.

Ability to provide effective support to the enabling team.

Ability to provide sound support and motivation to the staff team and support to the Customer Service Manager.

Ability to lead a team in the right direction to achieve the organisations business goals.

Ability to produce professional standards of report writing and administration.

High level of ICT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Education, Training and Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care/Independent Living

Knowledge and understanding of the GSCC codes of conduct.

Knowledge of the Care Standards Act and essential standards of quality & safety.

Awareness of Care Quality Commission and its regulations, reporting and audit processes.

Knowledge of NVQ/QCF infrastructure.

Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act.

Essential Requirements

Willingness to work shifts including sleep-ins.

Willingness to take part in an emergency on-call system.

Ability to work at various locations within the domiciliary area.

Willingness to attend staff meetings.

Willingness to attend in-house training and residential induction training days where necessary.

Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding Adults and the procedures involved

Knowledge and understanding of accountability and responsibility in all that we do.

No previous criminal convictions
