Sustrans, the charity that’s enabling people to travel by foot, bike or public transport for more of the journeys we make every day, is seeking to fill the following key vacancy in our Research & Monitoring Unit.
Senior Project Officer, Education & Young People
£23,864 – £27,109 per annum
(dependent on relevant skills and experience)
37.5 hours per week – based in Newcastle, Bristol or Birmingham
Our Research & Monitoring Unit is responsible for cycling/walking route usage monitoring throughout the UK and a very positive individual is needed to develop and manage all aspects of monitoring and evaluation related to education and young people projects delivered across the UK, with a specific focus on Sustrans work in Scotland.
Ideally educated to degree level in a related field or equivalent experience, with extensive experience in applied research methods, you will have a sound understanding of monitoring and evaluation procedures, practises and tools, and experience of monitoring and evaluating travel behaviour, transport and physical activity. Among other skills, you will have experience of project delivery, of project management, of successful report compilation and of line managing and motivating staff. You will also have excellent communication and numerical skills, strong analytical skills, be a self-starter and have the ability to plan and organise your own workload and those of other people, and be committed to sustainable transport.
