Electronics & Software Engineer South West to £36k + benefits
Our client specialises in the manufacture of a diverse range of systems and instruments used by clients in the civil and defence markets throughout the world, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced, enthusiastic and highly self motivated Electronics and Software Engineering professional to complement their established and successful team.
Reporting to the Business Unit Manager, the successful candidate will be tasked with undertaking both software and hardware design and development on the product portfolio range, whilst ensuring compliance within strict budgetary and timescale constraints. Working as part of a project team, you will additionally be responsible for maintaining daily records of work in progress and preparing technical documentation in accordance with in house quality assurance documents in accordance with ISO certification.
Working closely with other team members and departments including Production, Customer Support and the Design Office as well as external customers where required, you will proactively maintain an awareness of current hardware and software techniques and product developments so that these techniques may be adopted as and when necessary. You will demonstrate a flexible approach to undertake occasional trips to site or customer locations for training, installation or trials support activities when required, and will operate in a Team Leader capacity on an exciting and unique project application.
To be considered for this extremely varied and challenging opportunity it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be qualified to at least HND level or above in a relevant electronic engineering or computing discipline, and will demonstrate knowledge and experience of PIC microprocessors (ATMEL Xmega proving distinctly advantageous), C programming language, analogue design and op amps and digital design including basic logic circuits and FPGA’s as well as knowledge of CE compliance. Additional knowledge of R, Optics and the aviation sector will be considered favourably.
Essentially, you will either currently hold or be able to attain UK MoD SC Clearance and will have been a UK resident for at least the past 5 years.
