GRADUATE TRAINEE TECHNICAL ASSISTANT
SALARY: £18,000 - £22,000, plus benefits, pension scheme.
LOCATION: Based at the UK technical and sales offices in Tonbridge, Kent, you must be living within reasonable daily commuting distance, or be willing to relocate at your own expense from anywhere in the UK.
Reporting to the Technical Director, you will be working as part of a close knit team in a fun but professional, dynamic and busy environment, where your contribution to the shared goal of the business is recognised and rewarded, and where self development is an integral part of their business strategy.
After a period spent learning the fundamentals of structural waterproofing systems, your role will be to support the existing technical and sales teams, where your day-today duties and responsibilities will include:
* Providing first line customer service for sales and technical enquiries.
* Working with Sales and Technical staff to ensure Architects, Specifiers and other customers have all the relevant information required to make informed purchasing decisions.
* Editing and creating technical drawings.
* Daily processing of sales orders using Sage line 50.
* Maintaining the in-house CRM system / fault logging / completing responses and actions required.
* Providing general assistance to Senior Management as and when required.
* Developing technical skills and expertise through in house and on-site training.
You will have a good understanding of Construction Methodology, either a recent graduate or, as a minimum, educated to HND level, in a relevant subject such as; Building Studies, Construction Engineering, Architecture, Construction Design, Construction Management, Architectural Design.
Ideally you will have 6-12 months experience working in the construction industry in a customer focussed, design or project led role, possibly as a Junior / Trainee: Structural Engineer, CAD Technician, Design Coordinator, Project Coordinator, Technical Support Engineer, Estimator, Draughts Person, Design Engineer, Development Designer, CAD Operator, Draughtsman, Surveyor, Architectural Engineer, Architectural Technician, Architectural Technologist, Assistant Design / Technical Coordinator, Design & Build Coordinator, Technical Advisor or similar.
You must be an AutoCAD 2D/3D user, with a flair for design, possibly with knowledge of Revit / Sketch UP / Solidworks, and good all round PC skills including Microsoft office. You will have excellent communication skills, posses the ability to assimilate technical knowledge quickly, trouble shoot effectively, and be able to express complex technical information, concisely and accurately.
