Salary £35,000 - £45,000 DOE + pension + quarterly bonus + 25 days annual leave

QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum CCNA or CCDA certification. Ideally CCNP certification.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
• Experienced in working on Cisco (or other Vendor e.g. Palo Alto and Checkpoint) Firewalls, for example: configuring firewall contexts, configuring VPNs etc.
• Familiarity with network and security management and monitoring products.
• Proven history of technically leading IT network and security projects, including taking business initiatives from design to completion.
• Experience of Cisco switches and firewalls. Expertise in Cisco Nexus switches would be advantageous.
• Cisco configuration expertise along with an understanding of routing protocols
IP routing, Access lists, Spanning Tree, HSRP, DHCP, SNMP, Syslogs and DNS skills.
• Experience of configuring Firewalls in a multi-vendor production environment.
• Keep abreast of the ever changing direction of IT infrastructure technology and understand how best to exploit the technology for business benefits.

THE ROLE
As a Networks & Security Engineer in Data Centre Services, you will be responsible for developing and delivering scalable, robust, secure and resilient network solutions to support the business needs for Yorkshire Water and affiliated companies. This includes leading the design, development, documentation and implementation of IT services and projects to meet agreed customer requirements within the agreed service levels. Your responsibilities will include:
• Designing, implementing and supporting network and security solutions.
• Providing technical advice and challenge for schemes and change programmes that are dependent upon the IT Infrastructure.
• Ensuring that all technical solutions are aligned with the BSG strategic direction.
• Providing options for Business problems and recommending solutions with return on investment and cost / benefit analysis.
• Demonstrating commercial awareness and supporting the technical preparation of Request for Proposals, bid proposals and contracts for infrastructure projects and large scale or mission critical projects.
• Contributing to IT Contingency and Security planning aligned with the Business continuity plans.

You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels and have the ability to understand and interpret strategic direction. You must be able to coach and support teams and individuals so that we consistently deliver excellent service to our customers. You will also have experience of supporting and embedding change, able to influence and drive the right culture and behaviours within an IT environment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
A full valid EU driving licence is required to visit other sites. Requirement to be part of a standby rota.
