Lead Design Engineer – Well Intervention Products - Dubai
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Liaise closely with the local Thru Tubing and Slickline Operations team and the Global Well Intervention Engineering Group to develop new down hole technology products.
To build a satellite Engineering Design team from scratch in Dubai responsible for all MENA Well Intervention Engineering activity
To undertake a wide variety of engineering design draughting from updating existing drawings and files to designing new projects.
Provide testing and acceptance criteria for new products and approval reports to meet internal and customer requirements.
The job holder must be able to make appropriate engineering decisions ensuring that quality and reliability of the product meets customer needs.
Comply with and coordinate with Engineering procedures and systems
Stay abreast of developments in new technology pertaining to the product line.
Constantly work to improve process, competency and product line technology.
Attention to detail and a systemic approach to design file and drawing control is required.
Creating manufacturing assembly drawings and associated material calculations
Work accurately within planned timescale while working to specific deadlines to produce engineering drawings.
Although the main work scope will be on Thru Tubing tools, the Lead Design Engineer must be able to work on a wide variety of equipment design including related ancillary equipment, Wireline pressure control equipment and Slickline Tools, as and when required.
To work accurately under pressure and follow instructions with minimum supervision.
Communicate with operations on a daily basis to prioritise ongoing requirements.
Additional Responsibilities:
The role of the Lead Design Engineer is primarily office based but may require foreign travel if needed to support client specific projects.
The job role may occasionally require the employee to assist with hands-on work during assembly and testing of prototype or new designs.
The Design Engineer will work core hours with the occasional need to work extra hours if required.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Essential Desirable
• Minimum of a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficient in using 2D or 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or ProE.
• Good people skills such as effective communication, mentoring and leadership and the ability to coach a small group of engineers.
• Experience in the design of oilfield products relating to the product line as well as having solid knowledge in API and NACE material relating to wellhead equipment.
