Job Elements: -
• Design and develop mechanical components and systems, to enable accurate and cost-effective production, using 2D/3D models and drawings as appropriate.
• Ensure parts designed are fit for purpose through appropriate specifications, validation and verification techniques and design reviews.
• Liaise with our manufacturing partners on all aspects of development projects.
• Approve prototype parts, assemble and evaluate prototype units and recommend design improvements.
• Generate appropriate manufacturing, assembly and support documentation and provide training to production and support personnel.
• Undertaking customer liaison visits as well as providing advice and training as appropriate.
• Project planning and cost estimation.
• Recommend adoption of new technologies, development systems, materials or products as appropriate.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Relevant degree, HNC or significant experience.
• Excellent 3D-modelling capability essential, preferably with recent use of SolidWorks.
• Proven experience as ‘hands on’ designer with strong product development record.
• Flexible approach.
• Driven team player and individual achiever with ability to work effectively in fast paced environment.
