About Governing Council of the Cat Fancy
The GCCF was created by a number of UK cat clubs in 1910 to be the first organisation in the UK to provide a unified system of registration and awards for showing of cats. It was run by a group of dedicated volunteers from the constituent clubs.
GCCF maintained itself as the largest cat registry and it grew so much that a staffed administrative office was created in the 1980s to process the paperwork when the workload could no longer be handled efficiently by the dedicated volunteers.
Following a review into its business around the time of its centenary in 2010, the GCCF has carried out major changes to the way it operates. New technology has been brought in to provide GCCF customers with a more convenient way to register and monitor their cats whilst the same technology is being used to change the processes in the administrative office.
Whilst still a centre of the administration of the GCCF, staff are now concerned with providing the GCCF customers with a high level of support and customer service to enrich the customer’s experience of the GCCF and its associated activities.
